Arthritis Foundation Releases Resources for Arthritis Sufferers While in Social Isolation

This week, Michal Wiesbrock, Associate Executive Director of the Arthritis Foundation in Washington and Alaska, provided resources to Aegis Living staff and residents. Mr. Wiesbrock generously allowed us to share this information with the public at large.

I wanted to share some important information on COVID-19 as it relates to the arthritis community. Arthritis is the #1 cause of disability in the US, effecting 1 in 4 people. Many arthritis patients suffer from isolation and depression in the best of times which is why it is extra important that we provide them resources to stay connected during this stressful time.
Below is a copy of the Arthritis Foundation WA & AK staff contact list for your convenience. While our physical office is closed until further notice, the team is continuing to work and support the arthritis community. Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us there are questions or if you would like additional information. We are here to help.
I am also including a copy of the Arthritis Foundation COVID-19 Resources guide. The guide lists multiple ways arthritis sufferers, their families, and caregivers can stay connected and get the latest information.
There are two things to point out:
Arthritis Foundation 24/7 Helpline 1-844-571-4357: Our Helpline is staffed by licensed clinical social workers and can assist with an array of questions from medications and healthcare provider information to insurance and connect groups.
Website: The AF launched a new page on our website, Care & Connect, a special resource center for people with arthritis.
I hope this information is helpful to you. We are constantly updating our outreach tools and are happy to keep you updated. And please don’t hesitate to reach out. We may not have the answer right away but we will find it.
